The phone tree on steroids

A new service from a startup called Send Word Now allows customers to contact entire phone lists -- up to 8,000 separate numbers -- via PC and soon via handheld. The service was originally intended to serve as a means of conveying urgent information in time of emergency or crisis, but many of the startup's customers are using it as an everyday business tool.
