Clearwire IPO brings in $600 million

Clearwire priced shares for its IPO at the high-end of its range, selling 24 million shares at $25 each, which brought in $600 million. AT&T adds hot spots worldwide:
AT&T has rebranded SBC FreedomLink Wi-Fi service as AT&T Wi-Fi, saying its hot spot reach now covers 48,000 locations in 79 countries. AT&T also unveiled AT&T Global Network Client software, which is designed to ease VPN connections for end-users. Wi-Fi Planet (3/7)

"Amazon Unbox in TiVo" launches
"Amazon Unbox in TiVo," a service that allows users to buy videos from the online retailer and transmit them to their TVs via their TiVo service, made its debut Wednesday. Nokia retools its North American business
Nokia has promoted Mark Louison to president for North America as part of an overall effort to improve its position in the U.S. market. Alcatel-branded handsets head to the U.S.

France plans auction for UMTS license

MySpace in negotiations with media companies for content
News Corp.-owned MySpace is seeking to seal content deals with media companies; currently only shows from News Corp.-owned Fox are available on the networking portal. Report: Net revenue reached record $16.8 billion in 2006
For the third year in a row, U.S. Web ads in 2006 broke the record for revenue, jumping 34% to $16.8 billion, according to estimates from the Interactive Advertising Bureau.
