RIM's success has spawned new challenges
Research in Motion built a wireless e-mail empire on the back of its BlackBerry device, but the company now faces competition from the likes of Microsoft and Nokia, which are trying new ways to chip away at RIM's market share. Virgin hires Merrill, Credit Suisse for wireless IPO
Virgin Group has hired Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse First Boston to handle the IPO of its 50% stake in Virgin Mobile. The offering, valued at $2 billion, is expected later this year.   NYTimes.com (4/25) 

Time Warner plans to upgrade Adelphia assets
Time Warner Cable already is planning an upgrade to the assets it expects to acquire in its joint purchase with Comcast of bankrupt Adelphia Communications.
