Trade groups to sue students who swap files on Internet2

America Online in talks to sell service over cable lines

Cingular to offer latest music downloads

Qwest outfits Denver development with FTTH technology
Qwest Communications is equipping a Denver-area community with high-speed fiber-optic lines capable of delivering phone, data and video services to every house in the development. Vonage expected to lose grip on VoIP market
VoIP provider Vonage and other alternative voice providers may be hot properties now, but they are projected to lose market share quickly, predicts the Yankee Group. The report says Vonage and other alternative providers, which had 66% of the VoIP market at the end of 2003, will control only 19% of the market at the end of 2005. New VoIP offerings from telcos and MSOs are a major reason for the expected change, Yankee Group says.   TechWeb Network (4/13) 

China on pace to take broadband access top spot
China may pass the U.S. by the end of the year as the country with the most broadband subscribers, according to market analyst Point Topic. In addition to China, broadband penetration is growing especially fast in Europe and the Middle East.   InfoWorld (4/4)
