T-Mobile, Google partner up for mobile Internet
Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile has enlisted Google's help in providing Internet access via mobile phones, and hopes the familiar homepage will help users feel more comfortable with the service. Customers typically have shied away from mobile Internet access, but T-Mobile hopes to lure users with its "web'n'walk" campaign, new mobile devices that are better tailored for Web access and Google's familiarity.   The Washington Post/Reuters (6/29)

Broadband price wars heat up
Broadband providers including Verizon Communications, Comcast and Cox Communications all have introduced lower rates for high-speed Internet service since SBC Communications dropped its introductory rate to $14.95 per month. Verizon seeks slice of music phone market
Verizon Wireless said it plans to sell a music-playing handset from LG Electronics to rival Motorola's forthcoming handset that will play iTunes from Apple Computer. Hughes expands satellite broadband footprint

Covad picks Samsung for LPVA rollout

FCC seeks "parity" in broadband regulation
FCC Chairman Kevin Martin says the agency will push to level the broadband playing field between cable and telcos following the U.S. Supreme Court's Brand X ruling. "We'll need to move quickly to establish regulatory parity between telephone companies and cable companies that are providing a broadband service," Martin said.   The Wall Street Journal (6/29)
