Level 3 withdraws request for VoIP ruling

Texas to sue Vonage over 911 call
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott today is expected to announce the state is suing Vonage, alleging the VoIP provider violated the state's deceptive trade practices act when it failed to connect a 911 call in Houston last month. Verizon, Qwest exchange barbs via letters
Verizon Communications and Qwest Communications yesterday sent letters to underscore their positions in the battle to gain control of MCI. Symbian, Microsoft team up
Symbian, a maker of operating systems for mobile phones, said it has forged a deal with Microsoft to develop software compatible with the Redmond, Wash., company's Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 tools. The deal may indicate the companies, historically rivals in the smart phone software market, are looking to cooperate on more projects. Wireless security a challenge for companies
