Telstra ends Internet TV deal with Microsoft
Australian telecom Telstra Corp. has pulled out of deal to develop TV services with Microsoft. Orlando shuts down public Wi-Fi network
Orlando, Fla., officials pulled the plug on the city's free Wi-Fi network because of low demand. The city said it is looking into private partnerships with service providers that might help reduce costs.   Orlando Sentinel (Fla.) (6/21) 

Motorola to offer Wi-Fi/cellular handset in Japan
Motorola announced it has launched in Japan a new handset that combines Wi-Fi, W-CDMA and GSM radio. NTT DoCoMo will sell the phone, which will be available July 1, and it runs Microsoft's mobile operating system.   Wireless Week (6/21) 

Microsoft seeks supremacy in smart phone market
Ya-Qin Zhang, a high-ranking executive in Microsoft's mobile phone unit, said the company aims to be the top seller of smart phone software within three years. He said a large number of mobile phone companies now are producing handsets equipped with Microsoft's software and notes the recent release of Windows Mobile 5.0 will be a big boost.   The Wall Street Journal (6/22)
