TDG releases 2009 predictions

According to TDG, a CABA member, 2009 will be a turning point for the delivery of Web video to the television. By the end of the year, TDG predicts 40 million households around the world will be regularly watching Web video on their televisions and, as a consequence, watching less regular broadcast television. These over-the-top or net-to-TV video services will begin siphoning revenue from traditional pay TV services in the form of movie rentals, premium channel subscriptions and, last but not least, advertising revenue. The firm has patented technology to convert bio-mass into synthetic fuel. The company also has built bio-refineries in Sweden and also has two plants in the U.S., one in upper Michigan and the other in North Carolina.

Residential Systems Committee to update Multi-Room Audio Standard

CEA's Residential Systems Committee (R10) is working on revising ANSI/CEA-2030, Multi-Room Audio Cabling Standard. The revision will add information on how to document distributed audio systems installed in homes. ANSI/CEA-2030 defines how to configure cabling and connectors to distribute analog and digital audio throughout a home.
