Emergency GPS shutdown plans reviewed

According to an administration official, President George W. Bush has ordered the Defense and Homeland Security departments to plan for an emergency shutdown of global positioning satellites in the event of a national crisis. The move anticipates the possibility of terrorists using GPS to coordinate attacks.
