Microsoft targets RIM's BlackBerry with software update

Microsoft is gearing up to challenge BlackBerry maker Research in Motion in the wireless e-mail space with its upcoming Windows Mobile upgrade, which will bring push e-mail to Pocket PCs and smartphones. A source close to the Redmond, Wash., software giant says devices equipped with the new software could hit the shelves as early as the fall.
