Kevin Martin picked for FCC chief
President George W. Bush has nominated telecom lawyer Kevin J. Martin to serve as chairman of the FCC. Martin, one of three Republican members of the FCC, would take the helm from Michael K. Powell as the commission addresses a slew of controversial issues in telecommunications. Phone companies and representatives for the telecom industry praised the appointment.
