Nextel seeks e911 delay

Nextel Communications is seeking a waiver from an FCC requirement to activate e911 service for 95% of handsets by the end of this year. Nextel reportedly is struggling to meet the deadline because of burdens associated with its merger with Sprint. Other companies including Vonage and Telecommunication Systems also appear to be having trouble.
