Time Warner, Cablevision report rise in VoIP subscribers

Two of the largest cable operators in the U.S. have passed significant milestones in their efforts to expand into telephone services. Time Warner Cable expects to end the year with more than 200,000 customers for its Internet phone services. Cablevision says its VoIP service, called Optimum Voice, is adding 1,000 subscribers a day in the New York area and has passed the 250,000 customer mark.
