Nextel kicks off new emergency service
Nextel Communications will offer priority connections to government officials and law enforcement officers in times of emergency by routing specially authorized calls when circuits are congested. Nextel also announced a renewal of its contract with the U.S. Government Services Administration, a $1 billion, five-year deal commenced in late 2002.
